About The Position

Rogers Motors in Lewiston Idaho has full-time openings for Body Shop Technicians at our Collision Center. Our body shop is fed by all three Rogers dealerships and by our customer base in the region. Workflow is strong even in times other body shops are slow. We have state-of-the-art equipment in our shop, including all types of welders along with a Car-o-liner frame machine. Work hours in our body shop are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our employees are motivated, knowledgeable and caring professionals who build long-term client relationships. The Body Shop Technician repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications, using hand tools and power tools. A successful candidate for the Body Shop Technician position will have at least 3 years as a vehicle body repairer or apprenticeship.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles.
  • Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated.
  • Quality and production oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE or I-Car Certified preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
