About The Position

Assess and repair damages to vehicles damaged during transport and damages that occur internally. This role involves verifying vehicle identification numbers (VINs) against work orders, inspecting body preparation before painting, and performing painting tasks. The technician is also responsible for completing hotline procedures if required, submitting completed repair orders (ROs) to administration, and conducting periodic inspections of equipment such as booths, filters, and lights to ensure proper operation. A final inspection of the unit after work completion is also required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective communicator in listening, writing, and verbal.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize competing responsibilities.
  • Punctual and dependable person.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain TWIC badge.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Verify VIN or vehicle with VIN on work order.
  • Inspect body prep work before painting.
  • Prepare and paint vehicle.
  • Complete hotline on unit if unit requires hotline.
  • Complete and submit RO to admin.
  • Perform periodic inspections of booths, filters, lights, temperature, etc. to ensure booths are properly operating.
  • Inspect unit after work is complete.
