About The Position

Jim Pattison Collision & Glass has an amazing opportunity for an Automotive Body Shop Technician to join our team! We are one of the highest volume facilities with state-of-the-art amenities and have a highly experienced team dedicated to the highest level of automotive expertise and customer care. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where precision and craftsmanship is valued, this opportunity is for you! This is a full-time, permanent role of 40 hours per week. The regular scheduled hours will be Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role reports to the Collision Manager.

Requirements

  • Automotive Body Repair Certification
  • I-car structural welding Certification
  • A valid MB Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required.
  • Experience repairing and replacing body panels
  • Welding and metal repair skills
  • Frame and structural repair experience
  • Knowledge of vehicle measuring systems
  • Ability to read repair estimates and manufacturer procedures
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness
  • Ability to work in an automotive shop environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural and cosmetic collision repairs on a variety of vehicles
  • Remove, repair, and replace damaged body panels and components
  • Straighten frames and unibody structures using specialized equipment
  • Weld, sand, fit, and prepare vehicles for the paint process
  • Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards
  • Diagnose and document additional damage as needed
  • Work closely with estimators, parts, and paint departments to keep repairs on schedule
  • Reassemble vehicles, including trim, lighting, and safety-related components
  • Perform final quality inspections to ensure a safe, professional repair
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and collision repair equipment
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship while meeting production and efficiency goals
