Kelley Automotive Group Body Shop Production Manager
About The Position
The Body Shop Production Manager will direct the activities of body shop technicians in performing body repairs, ensuring that time schedules, productivity levels, and quality standards are met. This role involves forecasting goals, collaborating with other departments, attending management meetings, and motivating, directing, and monitoring all body shop production staff. The manager will also provide technical assistance, conduct daily production meetings, monitor payroll records, quality-check completed jobs, and maintain awareness of new equipment and tools. Additionally, the role requires ensuring work areas are clean, tracking vehicles to meet delivery dates, maintaining shop equipment, and moving customer and Kelley-owned vehicles.
Requirements
- Able to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Two years of experience in an auto body repair facility.
- Working knowledge and formal training, or the equivalent experience, of body repair methods.
- One-year supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication and managerial skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to drive customer and Kelley owned vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Forecast goals and objectives for the production department and strive to meet them.
- Collaborate efficiently with all other body shop departments.
- Attend manager’s meetings.
- Motivate, direct and monitor all body shop production staff.
- Direct and schedule the activities of production staff.
- Provide technical assistance to staff as needed.
- Conduct daily production meetings with CCAs to update status of all vehicles.
- Monitor body shop technician’s payroll records.
- Quality-check completed jobs.
- Maintain awareness of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
- Ensure that the production work areas are clean.
- Track vehicles to ensure target delivery dates are met.
- Maintain operation and safety of shop equipment and advise manager when maintenance or replacement is needed.
- Move customer and Kelley owned vehicles in and out of the body shop.
