About The Position

Gibbs Truck Centers is seeking a highly experienced Body Shop Manager to oversee a successful team at their commercial truck body shop. This role involves managing all aspects of the shop, including collision repair, sandblasting, frame straightening, painting, welding, liftgate installation, repairs, and body swaps for a variety of vehicles such as buses, trailers, tanks, tractors, trucks, RVs, and medium-sized pickups. The manager will also be responsible for sales, quotes, estimates, business-to-business transactions, working with insurance companies, customer relations, team management, safety, quality control, invoicing, and some accounting.

Requirements

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of ADP / CDK preferred or equivalent.
Good computer skills and Mitchell Paint/Body Estimating System or equivalent.
Minimum 4-5 years management experience (auto/diesel a plus).
Organized.
Terrific follow-up.
Excellent communication & customer service skills.
Sales & relationship building skills.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred.
Body Shop & Auto Painting experience preferred.
Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage and run all aspects of a commercial truck body shop.
Oversee collision repair, sandblasting, frame straightening, paint, welding, liftgate installation, repairs, and body swaps.
Manage a team of 8 painters, preppers, and a body shop advisor.
Drive sales, quotes, and estimates for shop growth.
Conduct business-to-business transactions.
Work with insurance companies on repairs and accidents.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers.
Coach, hire, train, motivate, and monitor team performance.
Manage safety and quality of repairs.
Handle invoicing, collecting money, and some accounting.
