Requirements
- 3+ years of body shop or collision repair management experience.
- Working knowledge of collision repair processes, estimating systems, insurance claims, and vehicle components.
- Experience with estimating and shop management software.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive management or collision repair training preferred.
- Strong leadership, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
- Parts department experience is a plus.
- I-CAR, ASE, or other industry certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead all daily body shop operations, including scheduling, workflow, production, and quality control.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team of technicians and support staff.
- Establish department goals, monitor key performance indicators, and manage the operating budget.
- Review repair estimates and ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Build strong relationships with customers, insurance adjusters, vendors, and internal departments.
- Coordinate parts availability and monitor repair progress to ensure timely vehicle delivery.
- Oversee department productivity, payroll, billing, and accounts receivable.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly while delivering exceptional service.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety standards.
- Maintain shop equipment and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and productivity.
- Keep the facility clean, organized, safe, and customer-ready.
- Support business growth through customer retention, referrals, and marketing initiatives.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to the continued success of the dealership.
