About The Position

We are looking for a Body Shop Manager to lead our Fix Auto Dartmouth collision centre with energy, accountability, and a strong commitment to operational excellence. This is a leadership role for someone who knows the collision industry inside and out and is ready to take ownership of a high-performing, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for driving shop performance, developing people, strengthening partner relationships, and ensuring every repair meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience as a Body Shop Production Manager or in a collision repair facility.
  • Prior experience as a collision estimator or insurance appraiser.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong tact, diplomacy, and ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
  • Able to train and motivate the production team.
  • Demonstrates professional leadership abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Estimating Software (Audatex and Mitchell) is an asset.
  • PBS software, I-CAR or other industry training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, ensuring a positive work environment and excellent customer experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurance agents, dealerships, and fleet accounts.
  • Inspect vehicles and assist with damage appraisals.
  • Inform customers about the repair process, insurance claims, payment, and delivery timelines.
  • Keep insurance adjusters, staff, and customers updated on repair status; handle supplements and negotiations with insurers.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance partner guidelines.
  • Monitor repair progress, safety procedures, and equipment use.
  • Oversee OHS program and safety audits.
  • Inspect completed repairs, explain warranties, and ensure quality control.
  • Assign tasks, review work orders, and verify work quality.
  • Address customer complaints promptly, according to dealership guidelines.
  • Oversee parts ordering and maintain relationships with dealers and suppliers.
  • Facilitate and arrange technical training for employees.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, recommending purchases as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work and customer areas.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and manage body shop staff, fostering positive communication and culture.
  • Monitor financial performance, including expenses, revenue, productivity, and budgeting.
