About The Position

The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for writing estimates and selling service within the Body Shop department. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to the Body Shop's profitability. The Estimator will manage Direct Repair Programs (DRP) with assigned insurance companies, maintain positive relationships with customers, insurance companies, and other departments, and ensure the smooth operation of the body shop. Key responsibilities include managing customer satisfaction by resolving complaints professionally, building clientele, and setting clear standards for customer treatment. The role also focuses on service quality and profitability by ensuring high-quality service sales, staying updated on relevant laws, assisting technicians with repair procedures, setting team performance goals, and maintaining customer communication throughout the repair process. Additionally, the Estimator will manage relationships with insurance companies by writing estimates according to their profiles, working with technicians on vehicle disassembly for accurate estimates, growing business with existing DRPs, and seeking opportunities to add new DRPs. Professional development is encouraged through attending seminars and maintaining current knowledge in the body shop field. Interdepartmental cooperation is also a key aspect, assisting other departments with customer issues and maintaining good working relationships to ensure dealer profitability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer skills needed.

  • Set and maintain daily goals to ensure body shop team performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining all communications with the customer during the repair process.
  • Keep body shop manager aware of any equipment that needs to be repaired.
  • Satisfy all insurance companies with whom Estimator does business.
  • Project an organized and well manager business to insurance companies.
  • Write estimate/repair orders in accordance to each insurance company profile.
  • Work with technicians to get vehicles disassembled for proper estimates.
  • Grow business with existing DRP’s.
  • Look for opportunities to add new DRP’s.
  • Attend appropriate Estimator seminars.
  • Maintain a level of training and knowledge in order to stay current in body shop field.
  • Assist other departments to correct customer problems.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with other departments to reduce conflict and maintain dealer profitability.
  • Assist sales department in the sale of new and used vehicles.
