About The Position

Pacific BMW’s Certified Collision Center is looking to hire an Auto Detailer in charge of assisting our Paint Department. This position reports to Andrew Batenhorst, Body Shop Manager. The department hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am- 5 pm; please note this is a full-time 40hr per week position and it is paid hourly.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 year of auto detailing/buffing experience is required
• Must have at least one year of color sanding and polishing experience
• Ability to submit to a respirator fit test and pass a pulmonary function test
• An open-mind, must be willing to incorporate lean processes into running the paint team, which will be taught
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
• Current Driver's License with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with BMW Colorsystem (Axalta) and Sikkens Paint lines preferred, but not required
• Auto Body Painting Trade School Certificate is desirable

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation
• Apply wax, glass coat, claying process to auto body and wipe or buff surface
• Perform Quality Control checks on Paint and Reassembly work
• Review work order that all tasks were completed
• Perform Denib / Color Sand operations post paint and photo document as necessary
• Perform Detail packages requested by customer
• Dispose of any hazardous waste properly
• Complete training available on detail products/tools/techniques
