About The Position

The Body Line Machine Operator is responsible for receiving product from the Rough Mill and using a variety of machines to sand, shape, and prepare the guitar body for the next department. This role requires an adaptable and flexible mentality due to the utilization of several different types of machines within the department.

Requirements

Develop a strong understanding of the models and machine function.
Strong attention to detail.
Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision.
Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues.
Team work and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Learn and execute standard operating procedures.
Safely and efficiently operate an oscillating sander, handheld pneumatic drum sander, a slack belt sander, and routing table.
Achieve a 95% pass rate based on production requirements.
Understand and meet quality standards (Specs.).
Maintain product flow at an appropriate rate.
Adhere to department protocols (5S and Safety).
Adhere to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules.
Submit Safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code.
Support the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
