About The Position

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering a wide range of insurance products. We are seeking an experienced Extended Handler Bodily Injury Adjuster to manage attorney-represented bodily injury claims of varying severity, including soft tissue injuries to fatalities, across Northeastern state venues. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in reviewing coverage, determining liability, conducting thorough damage investigations, and evaluating claim exposure to facilitate fair and timely resolutions. We are open to qualified candidates located in Eastern Time Zone states.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Extended Handler Bodily Injury Adjuster.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing coverage, determining liability, conducting comprehensive damage investigations, and evaluating claim exposure.
  • Ability to manage attorney-represented bodily injury claims ranging in severity from soft tissue injuries to fatalities.
  • Experience in Northeastern state venues.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating when working from home.
  • Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents.
  • Determining coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Adjusting and negotiating claims within the limit of authority.
  • Mentoring junior employees.
  • Managing attorney-represented bodily injury claims ranging in severity from soft tissue injuries to fatalities across Northeastern state venues.
  • Reviewing coverage, determining liability, conducting comprehensive damage investigations, and evaluating claim exposure to support fair and timely resolutions.
  • Determining subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases.
  • Applying advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department.
  • Handling investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise of discretion and independence within an increased level of authority.
  • Reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating moderate to complex injury claims.
  • Recognizing and identifying body parts of a vehicle and understanding other potential property damage.
  • Identifying customer needs and working to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills.
