About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Boatswain’s Mate (BM) with U.S. Navy (USN) experience to support deck operations, vessel handling, maintenance, and seamanship activities in a marine environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in line handling, small boat operations, rigging, and deck equipment maintenance. Veterans Encouraged to Apply. This position requires prior service in the United States Navy, specifically: Boatswain’s Mate (BM) (preferred) or other deck or seamanship-focused roles with equivalent experience. Candidates with experience in navigation support, watchstanding, crane/rigging operations, and deck safety are highly preferred.

Requirements

Prior service in the United States Navy
Experience as a Boatswain’s Mate (BM) or equivalent deck operations role
Strong knowledge of seamanship, rigging, and deck operations
Ability to work in physically demanding and outdoor environments

Nice To Haves

Experience in Commercial maritime, shipyard, or offshore operations
Experience with Tugboats, barges, or support vessels
Crane or rigging certifications (preferred but not required)
Familiarity with navigation support and watchstanding

Responsibilities

Perform line handling, mooring, anchoring, and towing operations
Operate and maintain deck equipment (winches, capstans, cranes, rigging systems)
Support safe vessel movement and docking procedures
Operate small boats and assist with navigation and watchstanding duties
Support crew during launch, recovery, and underway operations
Perform routine maintenance, including: Painting and corrosion control, Deck preservation and cleaning, Equipment inspections and upkeep
Follow all maritime safety procedures and standards
Participate in drills and emergency response activities
Maintain awareness of hazards and ensure safe deck operations
