About The Position

Buchanan Marine LP is seeking a career-driven individual with a strong work ethic and stable sea legs to join our team as a Mate. This is a Union position aboard the Tug Alexandra and Dredge Eleanor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, be eager to learn, and have a career mentality, as our company prefers to grow from within, promoting Mates to Captains. You will work and live aboard our tugs for two weeks at a time, followed by two weeks off. Buchanan Marine LP offers a reliable work environment with consistent time on and time off the boat, maintaining a 'small-company' family feel despite significant growth.

Requirements

• TWIC
• MMC with Medical Certificate
• Mate of Towing Endorsement (Near Coastal or Oceans required)
• Radar Endorsement
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong leadership and verbal communications skills
• Enjoy problem-solving
• Work well in a team setting
• Willing to work hard and learn from others
• Understand safety is a priority
