About The Position

The Boathouse Supervisor is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant by exceeding guest expectations in food & beverage service. This position provides guidance, training and day-to-day supervision of Boathouse staff as the restaurant’s manager on duty. The Boathouse Supervisor supports the Boathouse Manager with tasks including but not limited to reviewing inventory, preparing and leading pre-shift meetings, resolving customer issues or complaints, and leading staff. The Boathouse supervisor will continually promote a teamwork mentality by offering support to all other colleagues in the restaurant. The Boathouse is a seasonal restaurant looking for motivated individuals to help us run our restaurant beginning opening May 1st and continuing through the month of September. Training shifts before May 1st are flexible to accommodate individual schedules.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of two (2) years or more as a manager, supervisor or lead in a restaurant setting.
  • A proven track record of effectively supervising and coaching staff to drive consistent quality of service and products.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a coaching/mentor attitude.
  • The ability to effectively manage and enforce service standards with bartenders, servers, hosts and food runners – providing training and guidance where needed.
  • Willingness to learn new restaurant service concepts and ideas.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints directly.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers and wine.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Open availability with the expectation of typically working 5 shifts a week, with shifts ranging from 8-10 hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hotel/resort is a plus.
  • Food Safety Certification is preferred.
  • Bartending experience is preferred.
