About The Position

The Boat Shop Technician performs maintenance and repairs on small boats. The role requires in-depth knowledge of boats and operational knowledge of propulsion and electrical systems. Work includes engine installations, electronics installations, and outdrive replacements, as well as troubleshooting and repairing vessels within a specific work package. The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, independence, and organization.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of boats and operational knowledge of propulsion and electrical systems.
• Experience with different 12V and 24V electrical systems, including engine monitoring, navigation, radar, and communication systems.
• Ability to read drawings and work effectively to NAVSEA standards.
• Knowledge of multiple driveline configurations and components, including inboard/outboard, sterndrives, jet drives, and full outboard.
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and stay organized.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and/or access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
