About The Position

The Boat Shop Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and preventative maintenance on Academy owned boats, boat hoists, and piers. This includes but is not limited to: painting boats and piers, repairing masts, repairing hoists, routine mechanical maintenance of boats such as tune-ups, oil changes and propel and shaft replacement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Indiana driver's license with a good driving record.
• Physical capability to perform the duties of the position which may include: bending, stooping, lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty pounds, climbing stairs, ladders, and masts.
• Must be able to swim.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Tolerate working in inclement weather.

Nice To Haves

• Previous vocational and mechanical training is desired.
