About The Position
The Boat Shipping position is responsible for loading finished boats, motors, and trailers on various types of transportation methods. This role involves preparing transports for loading by placing and assembling steel rails and components, operating powered lift trucks to place boats and motors on trailers, and securing boats, motors, and accessories using various strapping and tie-down equipment. Additionally, the position includes unloading trailers shipped from the trailer manufacturing plant and placing them in a pre-determined location in the yard using a power lift truck. The role also requires maintaining a clean, safe, and hazard-free work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge of forklifts, motor vehicles and yard tractors
- Operation of yard truck and hoist
- Detail oriented
Responsibilities
- Prepare transports for loading by placing and assembling steel rails and components in the proper configuration for the type and mix of boats being loaded.
- Place boats and motors on the trailers by operating a powered lift truck.
- Load and secure the boats, motors, and accessories by using various types of strapping and tie-down equipment.
- Unload trailers shipped from the trailer manufacturing plant and place in a pre-determined location in the yard by use of a power lift truck.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hazard-free work area.
