About The Position

The Boat Shipping position is responsible for loading finished boats, motors, and trailers on various types of transportation methods. This role involves preparing transports for loading by assembling steel rails and components, operating a powered lift truck to place boats and motors on trailers, and securing them with various tie-down equipment. Additionally, the position includes unloading trailers from the manufacturing plant and placing them in a designated yard location. Maintaining a clean, safe, and hazard-free work area is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Knowledge of forklifts, motor vehicles and yard tractors
Operation of yard truck and hoist
Detail oriented
Light lifting, under 20 lbs.
Light carrying, under 20 lbs.
Moderate lifting, 21-59 lbs
Moderate carrying, 21 – 59 lbs
Straight pulling

Responsibilities

Prepares the transports for loading by placing and assembling steel rails and components in the proper configuration for the type and mix of boats being loaded.
Places boats and motors on the trailers by operating powered lift truck.
Loads and secures the boats, motors, and accessories by using various types of strapping and tie down equipment.
Unloads trailers shipped from the trailer manufacturing plant and place in a pre-determined location in the yard by use of a power lift truck.
Maintains clean, safe and hazard free work area.
