About The Position

Drives a truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport boats, trailers, and related equipment to and from MarineMax dealerships and customer locations. The Boat Hauler also launches and retrieves boats at customer locations and marinas. The role requires advanced seamanship skills, safe commercial driving, professional customer interactions, and equipment inspection and maintenance.

Requirements

Maintain a clean and safe driving record.
Possess all necessary DMV/DOT credentials.
Have advanced seamanship skills.
Know principles and methods for moving boats, trailers, and related equipment by road, including relative costs, advantages, and limitations.
Safely maneuver between destinations and have a good sense of direction and/or map-reading ability.
Know laws and legal codes pertaining to driving trucks.

Responsibilities

Drive a truck to destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
Maintain a clean driving record and possess all necessary DMV/DOT credentials.
Demonstrate advanced seamanship skills.
Drive boats between dealerships and deliver boats to customer locations.
Retrieve and launch boats from the water.
Present a professional and knowledgeable image to customers.
Maintain telephone or radio contact with a supervisor to receive instructions or other communications.
Inspect and maintain equipment, including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
Assist with setting up boat shows.
Professionally support customer events.
Perform canvas and equipment tear-down for transport, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
