About The Position

River Valley Marine of Lake Minnetonka is seeking a highly professional Boat Handler/Hauler to support our 2026 Spring Commissioning and Launch Season. This is a seasonal, full-time role running approximately April 1 through June 2026, supporting one of the most active and high-end marine markets in the Midwest. This position works directly with premium vessels ranging from 19 to 40 feet, including luxury pontoons, surf boats, cruisers, and high-performance models located at private residences, yacht clubs, and marinas throughout the Lake Minnetonka area and surrounding communities. This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional who understands the responsibility and presentation required when handling high-value marine assets in an affluent customer environment. The right candidate takes pride in their work, communicates professionally, operates equipment with precision, and represents River Valley Marine with confidence and professionalism in the field. Each day begins at our Minnetonka service location, supporting the safe movement, launch preparation, transport, and organization of customer boats and dealership inventory. This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional customer experience during the most important time of the marine season.

Requirements

  • Professional experience operating trucks and trailers, including bumper pull, fifth wheel, and gooseneck trailers required
  • Clean driving record and ability to operate vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and equipment care mindset
  • Professional demeanor and strong customer interaction skills, particularly in high-end residential environments
  • Ability to work independently, follow direction, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced seasonal environment
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Reliable cell phone for daily communication

Nice To Haves

  • Boat handling, marine transport, marina, or marine dealership experience strongly preferred
  • Forklift and heavy equipment experience preferred
  • CDL preferred but not required for the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Transport high-value boats safely between dealership locations, customer residences, marinas, boat launches, and storage facilities within approximately a 100-mile radius
  • Operate company equipment including pickup trucks, one-ton trucks, gooseneck trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, forklifts, and front-end loaders
  • Load, unload, launch, and position boats safely and efficiently while maintaining strict attention to detail and care
  • Secure boats and trailers properly for transport using correct procedures and safety protocols
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and equipment safety and compliance
  • Maintain accurate transport records, bills of lading, and required documentation
  • Assist with yard organization, staging, and coordination of boats for delivery and launch schedules
  • Support service and detailing teams as needed to ensure operational efficiency during peak season
  • Represent River Valley Marine professionally when interacting with customers at their homes, docks, and marinas
