About The Position

Wesley is seeking professional, motivated, and dynamic leaders passionate about making a difference to join its volunteer Board of Directors. Wesley is a long-standing local non-profit organization serving Brantford, Halton, and Hamilton, with a focus on children and family programs, housing and homelessness, and resettling newcomers to Canada. The organization is deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and believes that a diverse Board enhances its ability to serve the community effectively. All members are expected to embrace and participate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives. Current recruitment priorities include individuals with experience in affordable housing policy, capital development, or housing partnerships; government relations or public policy; and senior non-profit leadership (staff and/or Board). Wesley acknowledges that systemic barriers can shape experiences and qualifications and is committed to supporting new members through orientation, training, and mentoring. Eligible candidates cannot be currently employed or employed within the last 3 years by Wesley or its affiliates.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation for and attendance at 6 pre-scheduled Board meetings per year
  • Preparation for and attendance at Board Committee meetings
  • Participation in Wesley Events
