About The Position

Needham Public Schools is seeking an energetic, skilled, and warm .4 Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join their team for the Preschool SY26-27. This role is designed to support students with autism in inclusion classrooms and other programs. The BCBA will provide consultation to various school staff, including special education teachers, general education teachers, teaching assistants, related services providers, and parents. Needham Public Schools is committed to the success of its diverse students and families, focusing on cultural proficiency, equity, and community collaboration. The district serves approximately 5,500 students across 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 1 high school, with a strong emphasis on improving academic performance for historically marginalized students and ensuring a safe, bias-free environment for all.

Requirements

  • Certified in Massachusetts as a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 3 years working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Responsibilities

  • Support the Intensive Autism Program
  • Build program capacity throughout the district as required and/or support and/or consult with students and staff as required
  • Develop programs for students that require discrete trials, ABA work and programming through the ABLLS and/or VBMAPP
  • Training of staff in Intensive Autism Programs
  • Provide professional development for Professional Development days and Early Release days
  • Educate and work with general education staff and teaching assistants
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans for students in order to improve student’s challenging behaviors
  • Attend IEP meetings
  • Support staff with data collection and using data to drive instruction and programming for individual students
  • Support staff on skill development for individual students
  • Plan with staff for successful socialization and inclusion within regular education settings and with typically developing peers
  • Any other duties for responsibilities as determined by the Director of Special Education and building Special Education Coordinator

Benefits

  • Salary is determined by education and experience, ranging from Bachelor’s (Step 1) $25,286.80 to Doctorate (Step 14) $53,568.80(This range is prorated for .40 FTE).
