About The Position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work collaboratively with school personnel and parents to conduct assessments, develop, implement, and progress monitor positive behavior intervention plans for students with challenging behavior. This role also involves providing support and professional learning to teachers, school staff, and paraprofessionals in appropriate behavior interventions and instructional techniques.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related human services field
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA, as certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB))
  • Ability to facilitate the delivery of high-quality behavior-analytic services and conduct Functional Behavior Assessments
  • Demonstrate expertise in the area of data collection and behavior analysis
  • Ability to work with a variety of students in regard to age, functionality, and with minimal direction
  • Model technical, professional, and ethical behavior
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the function of challenging behavior and socially valid, replacement behaviors.
  • Assist in writing behavior intervention plans.
  • Promote positive student behavior by providing professional development on research, strategies, and modeling of instructional practices.
  • Select interventions and strategies according to the needs, desires, and abilities of the individual.
  • Develop treatment plans that recommend individualized, evidence-based behavioral strategies.
  • Identify behavior goals and intervention techniques utilizing non-aversive behavior change methods.
  • Assist and coach staff in supporting the implementation of and data collection for behavior intervention plans.
  • Develop training materials and provide professional learning to administrators, educators, and paraprofessionals in ABA-based strategies and other evidence-based methodologies.
  • Provide on-site coaching and modeling to ensure treatment integrity.
  • Assist staff with developing and implementing progress monitoring tools and evaluating treatment effectiveness.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with school staff to implement effective techniques across all environments.
  • Work directly with students who exhibit maladaptive/unexpected behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff.
  • Assist staff working with children on the autism spectrum and other developmental delays.
  • Travel to school sites as required for meetings, observations, assessments, and recommendations.
  • Develop collaborative relationships and engage families, caregivers, and private providers in creating behavior programs.
  • Attend IEP, eligibility, ISA, or other meetings as necessary and provide related behavioral information and written reports.
  • Compile and analyze data, complete reports and other paperwork within established timeframes.
  • Utilize district technology systems, including special education IEP software and Google Suite.
  • Provide professional development to staff on crisis management.
  • Respond to student crisis alerts.
