About The Position

The BCBA Parent Coach provides education, coaching, and support to parents and caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This position focuses on empowering families to effectively implement evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies within the home and community, promoting skill generalization and improving overall family quality of life. The BCBA Parent Coach works collaboratively with families, case BCBA’s, and other members of the clinical team to ensure treatment goals are carried over beyond direct therapy sessions.

Requirements

  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Active state licensure (where required).
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing ABA services.
  • Experience conducting parent or caregiver coaching.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and teaching abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior intervention strategies.
  • Ability to teach complex behavioral concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Excellent organization and documentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt training to meet each family's learning style and cultural needs.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized parent and caregiver coaching.
  • Teach ABA principles and behavior management strategies using evidence-based practices.
  • Coach caregivers on implementing skill acquisition programs, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and reinforcement strategies.
  • Model intervention techniques and provide real-time feedback during training sessions.
  • Assist families in increasing independence with implementing behavioral strategies across daily routines.
  • Review client treatment goals prior to parent coaching sessions.
  • Collaborate with the case BCBA regarding parent coaching progress and identified barriers.
  • Monitor caregiver implementation and provide recommendations for improving treatment fidelity.
  • Document parent training sessions in accordance with company standards, payer requirements, and BACB Ethics Code.
  • Collect and review data related to caregiver implementation and treatment outcomes.
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with families.
  • Educate families on behavior principles, communication strategies, and skill generalization.
  • Provide guidance for addressing challenging behaviors in natural environments.
  • Help families identify community resources when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all family interactions.
  • Communicate regularly with supervising BCBAs regarding client progress and family participation.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and clinical consultations as assigned.
  • Communication and collaboration with Proactive Strategies and adhere to approved parent coaching authorization.
  • Maintain compliance with BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts.
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and company confidentiality policies.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Complete all required coaching and maintain active certification and licensure as applicable.
  • Parent coaching sessions completed and converted by same day at 9:00pm.
