About The Position

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Board & Stakeholder Relations Intern. The Board & Stakeholder Relations Intern will assist with The National WWII Museum’s governance process, which provides a unique perspective into the Museum’s current operations and strategic plans for educational and fundraising initiatives. The Intern will review committee reports and talking points, assist in the preparation for important meetings, and perform other administrative tasks related to the Board of Trustees. The Intern will gain valuable experience in writing and proofing materials following institution-wide standards for communication consistency. Additional opportunities for growth include learning about non-profit governance standards and business practices. The Intern will gain familiarity with a workplace that is a fast-paced environment and adheres to deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a recent university graduate or a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the fields of museum studies, history, political science, education, business, communications, or a related field, and must have excellent writing and editing skills. This is a paid internship, with a recommended commitment of 20 hours per week for 12 weeks.

Requirements

  • Earned or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in history, museum studies, political science, education, business, communications, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 and knowledge of office procedures
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills, customer service, and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Committee and Board meeting materials, including agendas, reports, talking points, and power points.
  • Digitize and organizing the Board’s digital files
  • Assist in the preparation of in-person meetings including but not limited to printing materials, setting out refreshments, and testing the Zoom connection
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Board of Trustees, which could include tasks such as scheduling, data entry, research, and other administrative tasks that enhance the functioning of the Board.
