About The Position

This position provides architectural support to the City Architect. Reviews plans for small projects for compliance with City Aesthetic Codes and practices. Recommends conditions and/or alternatives to ensure projects are responsive to the emerging needs of the community and consistent with City policies and established codes. Exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment under the direction of the City Architect, meeting with the public as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• Two years’ experience in construction or related field.
• A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all activities related to the Board of Architects
• Attends meetings, reviews plans, prepares technical reports, and makes recommendations.
• Maintains policies and procedures for the Board of Architects.
• Provides input into City building decisions.
• Provides design review of architectural plans and makes recommendations for refinement prior to review by the Board of Architects.
• Meets with the public as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
