About The Position

Miller's is proud to provide training for those interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant free of charge. Each student is required to complete classroom training and clinical training. Upon completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed).
• Must successfully complete 75 hours of supervised practicum.
• Must successfully perform all required skills during practicum.
• Must have all skills checklists (RCP’s) signed off.
• Must complete daily "clinical sign-in record" with required information.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical.
• Mandatory attendance to all classroom sessions.
• Must check with the facility for dress code requirements.

Nice To Haves

• If a student does not pass the classroom phase of the course they will not be placed into the clinicals.
• Absence during the first 16 hours of practicum with the instructor will result in being excused from the program.
• Unsatisfactory performance or attendance issues may result in dismissal from the course/program.
• If the student does not pass the 1st test it may be retaken and paid for by Miller’s a second time.
• If not an employee, your application and certificate of completion will be given to you to schedule your own test at your own expense.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work.
• Pass all tests administered during the classroom portion with a score of 80% or higher (each student has 3 attempts to pass).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Perform all required skills successfully during the practicum.
• Demonstrate and sign off on all skills checklists (RCP’s) during the clinicals if not completed during the classroom phase.
• Complete a "clinical sign-in record" daily, including date and actual hours worked, signature of student, and co-signed by a licensed supervisor.
• Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
• Adhere to the facility's dress code requirements.
