About The Position

Miller's is proud to provide training for those interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant free of charge. Each student is required to complete classroom training and clinical training. Upon completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. See below for more details on training.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher.
• Must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical.
• Attendance to all classroom sessions is mandatory.
• Satisfactory performance and attendance are required.

Nice To Haves

• Students may be assigned to work with a preceptor who will assist in organization and time management.
• If hired and in good standing as an employee, Miller's Merry Manor will pay for the scheduled state test.
• If not an employee, the student will receive their application and certificate of completion to schedule their own test at their own expense.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work.
• Pass all classroom tests with a score of 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed per test).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised clinical practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Perform all required skills successfully during the practicum.
• Attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor (absence will result in dismissal).
• Work with a preceptor for assistance in organization and time management during the practicum.
• Have skills checklists (RCP’s) demonstrated and signed off during clinicals by the clinical instructor or other licensed nursing professional.
• Submit completed checklist (RCP) at the completion of the clinicals with all required skills completed.
• Complete a daily "clinical sign-in record" including date, actual hours worked, student signature, and co-signed by a licensed supervisor.
• Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
• Maintain satisfactory performance and attendance to avoid dismissal from the course/program.
