About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is offering a free training program for individuals interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This program includes classroom instruction and clinical training. Upon successful completion and passing the state exam, participants will become Certified Nurse's Aides. Miller's Health Systems has been providing compassionate care to Indiana families since 1964 and is a 100% employee-owned company.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed).
• Must successfully perform all required skills during clinical practicum.
• Must have all required skills signed off by a licensed professional.
• Must submit completed RCP checklist at the end of clinicals.
• Must complete daily clinical sign-in record.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical examination.
• Mandatory attendance to all classroom sessions.
• Unsatisfactory performance or attendance may result in dismissal.

Nice To Haves

• Students may be assigned to work with a preceptor for assistance with organization and time management during the practicum.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom training.
• Pass all classroom tests with a score of 80% or higher (three attempts allowed per test).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised clinical practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Successfully perform all required skills during the practicum.
• Attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor.
• Demonstrate and have all required skills signed off by the clinical instructor or other licensed nursing professional.
• Submit completed skills checklist booklets (RCPs) at the end of the clinicals.
• Complete and submit a daily "clinical sign-in record" with date, actual hours worked, student signature, and supervisor signature.
• Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical examination prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
• Adhere to the facility's dress code requirements.
