About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is offering a free training program for individuals interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This program includes classroom instruction and clinical training. Upon successful completion, students must pass the state exam to become a CNA. Miller's Health Systems has been providing compassionate care to Indiana families since 1964 and is a 100% employee-owned company.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher.
• Must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical.
• Mandatory attendance to all classroom sessions.
• Successful completion of the clinical practicum, including all required skills.
• Submission of completed RCP checklists.

Nice To Haves

• Students may be assigned to work with a preceptor for assistance with organization and time management during practicum.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work.
• Pass all classroom tests with a score of 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed per test).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised clinical practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Perform all required skills successfully during the practicum.
• Attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor (absence will result in dismissal from the program).
• Demonstrate and get signed off on all skills checklists (RCP’s) during clinicals if not completed in the classroom.
• Submit completed RCP booklets at the end of the clinicals.
• Complete and submit a daily "clinical sign-in record" with date, actual hours worked, student signature, and co-signature from a licensed supervisor.
• Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
• Adhere to the facility's dress code requirements.
