About The Position

The Blow Mold Associate is responsible for removing finished products from the molds and trimming excess plastic from the parts. This role operates blow mold machines, cleans excess material from products, and performs quality control inspections. The associate will weigh parts regularly, assist with material and product changeovers, prepare boxes for finished products, and identify/report quality or safety issues. Additionally, they will assist in training new associates and collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines. A strong emphasis is placed on adhering to safety rules, maintaining a clean work environment, and working effectively with co-workers.

Time management skills: The ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks is important to ensure products are built and prepared for shipment on time.
Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication skills are important to work effectively with other team members.
Organizational skills: The ability to keep track of stages of the assembly process, part numbers and inventory counts, and physical awareness of part locations and proper areas for staging assembled parts.
Basic math skills: Basic arithmetic skills are necessary for accurately counting parts and identifying part numbers.
Attention to safety: The ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when using equipment is important to maintain a safe work environment.
Follow directions: The ability to follow established procedures while performing tasks, using tools, and handling materials. Carefully consider and follow instructions to complete tasks and deliver required results.
Dependability: Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.
The employee must be able to bend, twist, and reach while handling objects and using power and hand tools.
The employee is also required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, and to hear.
The employee must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs on a regular basis, and objects weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

A high school diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience.
At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Operates blow mold machines.
Removes and clean excess material from product.
Inspects product for quality control.
Weighs parts every 15 minutes or as directed by supervisor.
Assists with material, color and product change procedures.
Prepares boxes to put finished product, labels and tapes boxes.
Identifies and reports quality or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor or department lead or manager.
Identifies and reports quality or safety issues to the supervisor or department manager.
Assist in training new blow mold associates.
Collaborates with other members of the production team to ensure that deadlines are met, and products are delivered on time.
Consistently abides by established safety rules, procedures, and regulations including wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses.
Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve production goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
