As a Blood Collections Staff member, specifically a CTIII in a Fixed Site Opportunity, you will utilize your phlebotomy and healthcare/customer service skills to support fixed site teams. The position involves performing complex Power Red collection duties and assisting team members with various other roles to support the fixed site collection process. The Red Cross provides paid phlebotomy training, enabling career growth within the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical assistant / phlebotomy training or equivalent experience required
  • Internal staff must have documented satisfactory performance in previous level within the job family or the equivalent experience
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required
  • A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
  • Position may require minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications

  • Prior experience with complex blood collection procedures
  • Prior leadership experience in healthcare settings

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex phlebotomy duties to include Power Red extraction
  • Lead the team and drive for results through excellent customer service
  • Model professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation’s largest not-for-profit blood banking organization
  • Able to work independently with attention to detail along with the knowledge of daily operations to ensure the blood the team collects and meets regulatory requirements
