About The Position

This position is responsible for Block Department support for Texas Speed and Performance. The role involves supporting the engine tear-down process, visual inspection of blocks, preparing blocks for machining and engine builds, and preparing blocks for sleeving. The Block Technician I will also maintain positive working relationships, enforce safety procedures, and perform other duties as assigned by their manager.

Requirements

• Dynamic, high-energy individual with a track record as an effective communicator and uses a collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Exceptional Mechanical Abilities
• Be able to use Measuring Equipment (Mics, Calipers, Bore Gauge, ect..)

Responsibilities

• Engine Tear Down Process (Label components and maintain traceability)
• Visual Inspection of all blocks from start to finish
• Prep blocks and visually inspect blocks before machining
• Prep blocks for engine builds (install cam bearings and plugs)
• Prep sleeves and block for sleeving (deburr sleeves / heat block in oven)
• Maintains positive working relationship with manufacturing personnel and other staff members to support a positive workplace environment.
• Responsible for implementing and enforcing industry standard safety procedures throughout the block department.
• Performs and executes all other duties assigned by direct manager.
