About The Position

Blending Technician I Tommy’s is seeking a Blending Technician I who will be responsible for daily production of detergents through chemical blending, quality testing, packaging, and safe handling of raw materials. This position is responsible for following established batch procedures, operating blending equipment, performing QC testing, and producing finished products while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience in chemical processing, mixing, or blending
  • Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; experience within database systems a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise good judgement and make sound data-backed decisions
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Views customer care as high priority; exhibits a positive can-do attitude
  • Displays a strong initiative and drive to identify gaps and fill them

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily startup and end-of-shift procedures for blending operations
  • Follow batch sheets to accurately measure, transfer, and blend raw materials according to established formulations
  • Operate blending equipment including pumps, tanks, load cells, mixers, and HMI-controlled systems
  • Perform QC testing including pH, specific gravity, and viscosity
  • Fill drums, totes, and containers from the blending tank batches
  • Handle hazardous materials while following OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the blending and production areas
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and safety hazards to supervision
  • Individual projects as assigned
