Blending Operator
About The Position
Set up, operate, or tend machines to mix or blend different materials. This role involves weighing or measuring materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements, and compounding or processing ingredients or dyes according to formulas. The operator will read work orders to determine production specifications, observe production and monitor equipment for safe and efficient operation, and mix or blend ingredients by starting machines and mixing for specified times. Additional duties include dumping or pouring specified amounts of materials into machinery, collecting samples for laboratory testing, and operating or tending machines to mix or blend a wide variety of materials. The role also requires adding or mixing chemicals or ingredients for processing using hand tools or other devices, and stopping mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained, then opening valves and starting pumps to transfer mixtures.
Requirements
- Ability to follow direction and assist with in-process quality control measures.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively.
- Reading and comprehension abilities.
- Ability to work in a Team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.
- High School Diploma or equivalent degree and training.
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to continually stand and walk for up to 10-hour days.
