Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic computer skills to input data into the database.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a current food handler’ permit.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and converse and listen.

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates electro-mechanical machinery such as sifters and blenders of diverse volume capacities.
Inspects materials for any foreign objects that may adulterate the batch.
Follows the blending instructions that are placed on the batch record.
Follows work instructions to perform each process step per set standards of health/quality, efficiency and safety.
Uses scales and computers to collect and record information, such as weight, batch code, time of blended, if intensifier bar is needed, and amount of barrels that are produced.
Investigates if product yield is not met to report in writing a reasonable justification.
Uses hand tools for the assembly and disassembly of removable machines’ parts.
Uses cleaning tools and sanitation substances to prepare room and equipment per public health standards of food products.
Keeps cleaning tools and substances outside blending rooms and maintains them clean, pure, and in good order.
Must contribute to department team incentive goals. Team incentive goals and rewards are based on productivity, in both quantity and quality of work and the accuracy to which the job and/or processes are completed.
Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
