About The Position

This position is responsible for operating blasting machines and performing various tasks related to sandblasting and part preparation. The role requires attention to detail, basic math and communication skills, and the ability to learn customer parts by sight. It is designated as a Safety Sensitive Position.

Frequent pushing/pulling forces up to/over 40 pounds
Reaching from shoulder level or below/over shoulder and while holding objects weighing 10 pounds
Seeing to distinguish colors/prepare/analyze figures, prepare/review documents, visually inspect and measure/assemble at a close distance
Frequent use of forklifts, power tools, slicing/cutting equipment, machinery and machinery that produces excessive heat
Ability to endure a smoky/dusty work environment
Exposure to extreme cold/heat for more than an hour
High noise level

Responsibilities

Gathers all materials necessary to perform job.
Operates all blasting machines.
Sandblasts all parts correctly.
Operates Wheel-a-brator.
Operates drill press.
Operates table-mounted router.
Records count of parts and puts parts in basket.
Daily records elapsed work time on labor ticket.
Reports to supervisor need for maintenance and repairs on all department equipment.
Learn customer parts by sight.
Operates forklift.
Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
Maintains clean work area.
May move parts/inserts for other departments as well as Sandblast.
