Ventower Industries, a premier manufacturer of wind turbine towers, pipe piles, caissons, ASME pressure vessels and tanks, is seeking talented individuals to join our expanding team. Established in 2008 and strategically located at the Port of Monroe in Michigan, we have built a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to producing high-quality, large structural steel products and wind turbine towers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Blaster or in a similar role within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques and equipment.
  • Familiarity with different types of abrasive media and their applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to blasting operations.
  • Proficiency in using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various coating applications.
  • Certification in abrasive blasting or related fields.
  • Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform abrasive blasting operations on structural steel components.
  • Prepare surfaces for coating application by cleaning and removing rust, scale, and old paint.
  • Operate and maintain blasting equipment, including pressure pots, hoses, and nozzles.
  • Select appropriate abrasive media based on the material and desired finish.
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Handle and store abrasive media and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with other shop fabrication tasks as needed.
