About The Position

Transco Rail Services, a part of Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a Blaster to operate blasting equipment to remove rust, scale, paint, and other foreign materials from the interior and exterior of railcars and related equipment. This role is within a TEAM environment where safety is the top priority. Requirements

• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
• Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
• Able to pass drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate blasting equipment to remove scale, paint, and other foreign substances from inside and/or outside of railcars and other materials.
• Prepare surfaces of non-finished railcars and components using various blast media methods.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures for blast and recovery systems.
• Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly.
• Report potential hazards.
