About The Position

SCHWING America is seeking an experienced Industrial Blaster to join their manufacturing team. This role involves preparing and blasting heavy equipment components to ensure a high-quality, durable finish before primer and paint application. The position offers a consistent Monday-Friday, 1st shift schedule (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) and is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work with industrial equipment and take pride in the finished product.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–4 years of industrial blasting experience or experience in a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment, pressure-feed systems, forklifts, cranes, and common hand tools.
  • Comfortable using computers and handheld barcode scanners.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize when adjustments are needed.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Dependable work history and ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work on the production floor for the entire shift.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to wear and annually qualify for respiratory protection due to potential exposure to dust, fumes, paint, and other industrial coatings.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with a PBC Autoblast System or similar blasting equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare heavy equipment parts and components for blasting and primer application.
  • Operate the PBC Autoblast System to achieve required surface finishes.
  • Perform DA sanding, vacuuming, pressure washing, and other surface preparation.
  • Clean the interiors of fuel, hydraulic, and water tanks.
  • Inspect blasted and primed components throughout the process to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Make equipment adjustments as needed to maintain consistent results.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on blasting and painting equipment.
  • Move parts and materials using forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Use barcode scanners and computer systems to accurately track production.
  • Assist with training and providing guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
