About The Position

Paints parts to meet customer and internal quality requirements by performing the following duties. This role involves ensuring parts are painted to specified standards, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months to one-year related experience or training
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Operates company forklift with certification.

Responsibilities

  • Safety works with large parts, uses proper hanging techniques, proper hook size to accommodate weight of part.
  • Follows all safety procedures to include wearing proper PPE.
  • Reads and understands paint inspection equipment including film gauges, delta e-meter, gloss meter, and is able to visually inspect parts.
  • Maintains equipment in top working condition and clean at all times.
  • Cleans paint and blast booths and guns to ensure there is no color transfer.
  • Keeps surrounding work area clean and clear of powder and blasting material.
  • Follows batch sheet instructions on proper sandblasting requirements and powder color/application.
  • Understands how to effectively blast parts of different size, weight, and geometry to internal and customer standards.
  • Logs jobs in manufacturing software.
  • Reads and understands batch sheet instructions and basic blueprint reading.
  • Records correct quality records.
  • Operates company forklift with certification.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision while meeting productions rates and quality standards.
  • Packages parts per batch sheet instructions.
  • Works with supervision to schedule upcoming jobs in the batch area.
  • Works in other areas of paint department as needed.
  • Uses safe and proper techniques in moving and hanging large and small parts.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.
