About The Position

FerroWorks, a company with a long history in railroad industry products, is seeking a Blast Operator for its location in Pittsburgh, PA. This role is crucial for the cleaning process of castings using blast machinery. Requirements

Knowledgeable of blasting process.
Must have knowledge of the use and operation of blasting equipment.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Ability to function as a team member, establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Highschool diploma, or GED.
Must be able to work any shift.
Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.

May operate forklift.

Responsibilities

Load and unload castings into Blast machine for cleaning process.
Monitor and adjust controls per specifications.
Completes daily hoist report.
Inspect all equipment used daily to ensure proper working condition and completes work order.
Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
Run castings through the Blast for the required amount of time.
Hook up castings and operate controls on floor mounted crane to load into blast bucket.
Monitors and adjust controls throughout blasting process cycle.
Empty the cleaned castings onto trays or boxes.
Maintains/completes daily blast report and dust collector form.
Shovels shot and debris that comes out of blaster.
Notify forklift operator for bucket pickup of castings at completion of blast process.
May operate forklift.
Performs general housekeeping /clean up in work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
