About The Position

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Blades Senior Aircraft Technician to join our Blades Repair team based in Grand Prairie, TX. Your duties will consist of fully understanding the methods and procedures to perform the following functions: Assist and lead other technicians in a positive/team manner, perform incoming inspections, execute repair tasks and final completion procedures, ensuring a quality product. Requirements

  • Required High School Diploma or Equivalent experience.
  • Strong expertise on a minimum of 2 Airbus blade component models.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in aviation (An A&P or a Train the Trainer Certificate can be substituted for 1 year).
  • Experience with resolving technical issues, including those involving AH/AHD.
  • Ability to work in a team in diverse / multiple stakeholder environments.
  • Experience with management skills.
  • Recognized expert in blade repairs.
  • Ability to train and foster team members.
  • FAA Airframe Certificate or equivalent
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 50lbs/23kgs. Daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 50lbs/23kgs. Daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Possible once or twice a year
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
  • Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Tear Down, Clean, Inspect, Repair, Assemble and Closeout Components:  75%
  • Clear understanding of methods and procedures on incoming inspections.
  • Proficient on the use of all hand tools needed to execute inspection.
  • Proficient on cleaning and stripping when required performing the repairs on all blade types.
  • Proficient on repair techniques for return to service of piece parts.
  • Proficient on assembly of finished products.
  • Proficient on closing out all final paper work and quality gates for QA creation of 8130-3.
  • Proficient in creating technical emails/reports to AH and AHD.
  • Maintain a high attention to detail.
  • Ensures completed work complies with customer specifications, FAA regulations, manufacturer’s applicable maintenance manuals, blueprints, RDAS, A.D.’s, etc.
  • Maintain responsibility to ensure scrap levels are kept to a minimum.
  • Customer Interface:  10%
  • Correctly identifies customers (internal and external) and understands their requirements proactively.
  • Looks through the eyes of the customers and goes the extra mile to serve them.
