About The Position

BlackHorn Concrete is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver / Volumetric Concrete Truck Operator to deliver quality concrete products while providing exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for operating a volumetric concrete truck, producing concrete on-site, completing required paperwork, performing equipment inspections, and ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately.

Requirements

  • Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred).
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction sites.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

  • Equipment operation experience (skid steer, loader, excavator, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate CDL concrete delivery trucks and equipment.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Produce and deliver concrete to customer specifications using volumetric equipment.
  • Maintain accurate delivery tickets, driver logs, and required DOT paperwork.
  • Collect customer signatures and payments when required.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and job site personnel.
  • Monitor concrete quality and make approved adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and perform daily maintenance checks.
  • Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company safety policies, and traffic laws.
  • Properly wash out and clean equipment after deliveries.
  • Report mechanical issues, accidents, incidents, or delays immediately.
  • Assist with yard duties, equipment maintenance, and shop organization when not delivering concrete.
  • Maintain fuel, additive, and material levels in assigned truck.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules during peak construction seasons as needed.
