About The Position

CICONIX LLC is seeking a Black Belt to support The Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) team in Portsmouth, VA. This role involves supporting process/performance improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Get Real Get Better (GRGB) methodologies and tools such as DMAIC, DMADV, and RIE. The objective is to reduce variability, standardize processes, eliminate waste, and enhance operational efficiency. The Black Belt will analyze existing workflows, develop and implement improvement strategies, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and provide professional development and mentoring. Key tasks include process mapping, identifying inefficiencies, developing optimized workflows, and working with stakeholders to implement changes. The role also involves reviewing submissions for technical accuracy, validating project scope, and ensuring adherence to Navy Medicine's documentation methodology. Certification will be by government personnel after reviewing documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree such as Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Black Belt (MBB) certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant field experience.
  • CPI/LSS experience in the health care industry required.
  • Practice continuously as a Black Belt since certification.
  • Possess experience in all elements of ASQ MBB Book of Knowledge (BOK) or equivalent industry recognized quality organization (i.e., NCQA and others).
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience associated with successfully accomplishing similar tasks.
  • U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional development courses via in-person or virtual/asynchronous modalities.
  • Conduct monthly mentoring sessions and verify knowledge transfer of belts applying for certification.
  • Review submissions for technical accuracy and alignment with Navy Medicine strategic initiatives.
  • Validate project scope, measurable results, and adherence to Navy Medicine's uniform documentation methodology.
