About The Position

This position is responsible for servicing all food and beverage outlets, including preparation of food and beverage items for The Bistro, The Market, Meeting Rooms, and "to-go" display cases. Responsibilities also include cleaning of wares, equipment, function spaces, and the dining area in The Bistro. The role requires a self-motivated and responsible individual with a sense of urgency to meet and exceed guest expectations with high energy, accuracy, and a high level of sincere concern for their individual needs, utilizing the 15-5 rule and guest names. A positive attitude is essential at all times. Team members must be cross-trained at the Front Desk to assist during high-volume periods and monitor the lobby to help where needed when the Bistro is slow. This role also involves maintaining and cleaning equipment to ensure sanitation and proper working order, assisting in the setup, breakdown, and servicing of meeting rooms, and maintaining clean and organized areas. The position requires adherence to food safety practices and sanitation guidelines, including proper cooking and holding temperatures, glove usage, and frequent hand washing. The ability to predict and proactively meet guest needs, empathize, problem-solve, and move quickly with high energy is crucial.

Requirements

  • Ability to work the machines and equipment in the kitchen safely and accurately.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Basic knowledge on chemicals and the various dispensers that operate only when chemical is present.
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language to comprehend guest needs, instructions, and converse accurately.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to bend down, reach under and over into coolers, refrigerators and ovens.
  • Hear audible alarm signals that meet NFP codes with sound decibels -10-30 range.
  • Ability to reach up to five (5) feet high to clean or place equipment.
  • Great Food Safe Food certification required.
  • Tips Certification required.
  • Professional attire required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the position with self-motivation and responsibility, actively monitoring all job positions in the lobby with a sense of urgency.
  • Meet and exceed guest expectations with high energy, accuracy, and sincere concern, using the 15-5 rule and guest names.
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times while on property.
  • Prepare hot & cold foods for The Bistro, meeting spaces, The Market, and "to-go" display case, serving and storing items according to health standards.
  • Restock purchased items and note/report low food and beverage items for reordering.
  • Properly use all equipment and systems, including Starbucks Espresso machine, TurboChef, Micros, and Dish machine.
  • Communicate actively with Guests, Team Members, and Management to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Cross-train at the Front Desk to assist both departments during high-volume periods.
  • Monitor the rest of the lobby and assist where needed (front desk, telephones, cleaning) when the Bistro is slow.
  • Maintain and clean equipment to ensure it stays sanitary, clean, and in proper working order.
  • Maintain an organized dishwasher and/or pot sink station using proper chemicals, cleaning all dirty dishes, pots & pans as necessary.
  • Work with sanitary standards throughout the shift.
  • Assist in the setup, breakdown, and servicing of meeting rooms.
  • Handle multi-tasking to adequately serve guests in the Bistro and meeting spaces.
  • Maintain a clean and organized Bistro, Market, Lobby, Meeting Rooms, and Kitchen areas at all times.
  • Perform end-of-shift cleaning tasks including breaking down and cleaning equipment, removing dirty dishes, taking out trash, and mopping.
  • Use production charts, usage records, temperature logs, and other documentation for safe and efficient operation.
  • Adhere to food safety practices, including proper cooking and holding temperatures, cleaning and sanitation procedures, glove use, and hand washing.
  • Predict and proactively meet guest needs, empathize with guests, and problem-solve.
  • Use and maintain an accurate cash register.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations for maintaining proper amounts of wares.
  • Store food products correctly, and date and rotate new stock.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, and cleaning up spills.
