Bistro Server (Coffee Shop)
About The Position
Responsible for the overall guest experience as it relates to education, delivery and presentation of bistro food and beverage. This role promotes superior guest service and maintains a positive organizational culture. The Bistro Server greets guests, explains the menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food, coffee, and beverage options. They take and deliver guest orders, present checks, accept payment, and make change. Additional duties include side work such as cleaning tables, restocking items, filling ice bins, and general setup and cleaning. The position also requires knowledge of legal drinking age and procedures, including checking identification and exercising good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages, understanding their effects on the body. Confidentiality of sensitive information is also required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
- At least 1 year of experience in a food and beverage setting.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
Nice To Haves
- Barista experience preferred
Responsibilities

- Greets guests, explains bistro menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food, coffee, and additional beverage options.
- Takes and delivers guest orders.
- Performs all services as determined by establishment’s size and practices.
- Performs Room service delivery duties.
- Presents check, accepts payment, and makes change.
- Performs side duties including cleaning tables, restocking-items, filling ice bins, set up, cleaning using compounds.
- Has complete knowledge of the legal drinking age and procedures.
- Checks for acceptable identification for guests who appear to be under 30 years of age and are attempting to consume or purchase alcoholic beverages.
- Has knowledge of the effects of alcohol on the body and its ability to impair mental/physical abilities and thereby uses good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
