About The Position
Prepare and cook food for the bistro, including the Soup of the Day, daily salad and sandwich specials, and made-to-order lunch items. Maintain stocked and organized pantry supplies, follow food-safety standards for storing and labeling ingredients, and keep the kitchen and work area clean and sanitary. Follow the daily kitchen checklist and support special events, catering, and other kitchen duties as needed. The employer provides training.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the Soup of the Day from scratch using fresh ingredients and established recipes.
- Create and prepare daily salad and sandwich specials.
- Keep the pantry fully stocked and organized with required menu items and ingredients.
- Prepare and cook made-to-order items from the lunch menu while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Date, label, and store prepared food and ingredients according to food-safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area throughout the shift.
- Follow and complete the daily kitchen checklist.
- Assist with special events, catering, and additional kitchen duties as needed.
- Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Work efficiently with the kitchen team to support smooth daily operations and excellent food quality.
