About The Position

This is a seasonal position, running from approximately October 1, 2026, through April 15, 2027. The Bistro Assistant Manager will be responsible for performing various Bistro duties, including short-order cooking for a limited menu, operating the cash register at the front counter when needed, delivering draft beer and limited cocktails, and adapting to a changing weekly schedule within the five days the Bistro is open. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Bistro Co-Managers. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with team members and guests.
  • Strong organization, reading comprehension, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using standard units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to follow one- or two-step instructions and apply common-sense problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words, numbers, and standardized processes.
  • Flexibility to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
  • Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and overhead reaching required.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure during busy conditions.
  • Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities required.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in structured or standardized work environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all Roberts Resorts policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs ongoing duties as prescribed by Resort Manager and Bistro Manager.
  • Handles weekly orders of alcohol and beverages as needed.
  • Handles weekly orders of all food supplies as needed.
  • Performs short-order cook orders in a timely manner.
  • Works the front counter with the register, taking orders as needed.
  • Delivers draft beer and a small amount of pre-mixed cocktails to customers, following Arizona Liquor Board Manager licensing training.
  • Ensures all areas of cooking and serving are kept in clean, sanitary condition at all times.
  • Obtains and maintains a Manager’s Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • Assists the Bistro Manager in maintaining work schedules for all Bistro staff.
  • Assists the Bistro Manager in training all Bistro support staff in all areas of duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
