The Opportunity We are seeking a Biomedical Technician II to ensure the safe and reliable operation of patient care equipment by performing routine maintenance, safety inspections, and troubleshooting. In this role, you will manage assigned equipment, respond promptly to service requests, maintain accurate documentation, and support clinical staff with equipment use and training. You will also collaborate with team members, contribute to process improvements, and help maintain an organized work environment while participating in on-call support as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronics, or equivalent experience (including military training)
  • 3+ years of experience servicing medical equipment in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Organized with effective time management
  • Basic computer skills for tracking and reporting equipment service
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
  • Valid driver's license (for roles requiring travel)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care equipment
  • Manage assigned equipment and coordinate service schedules
  • Conduct equipment inspections and maintain preventive maintenance procedures and documentation
  • Ensure test equipment is properly functioning and calibrated
  • Respond promptly to service requests and resolve equipment issues
  • Order repair parts while adhering to budget guidelines
  • Maintain service records, purchase orders, and invoices (as applicable)
  • Provide basic training and support to equipment users and staff
  • Communicate equipment needs, issues, and recommendations to leadership
  • Support quality improvement and risk management initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Accurately document all service activities
  • Attend and contribute to team and department meetings
